Htl sabor by secrets cozumel8/16/2023 ![]() ![]() The food issue was the most frustrating experience for us. A minor irritant in the grand scheme of things. Thus, we lived out of our individual suitcases which made the small room more cramped. We had two double beds that were comfortable but no dresser for storage. Our room was fine at Sunscapes but small with absolutely no room to place our clothing. Some so bad that they argued with management to get moved to Dreams, which is the newer of the three resorts. Other things I was told by Secrets guest was that the rooms over there were run down pretty badly. Why they couldn't have done this on the beach outside of the restaurant/bar area, I'll never understand. Thankfully it was done by 10:30 pm, but until then it was very loud and directly outside of our room. Then there was the issue of a party right outside of our room on the beach. Little things like that happened all over the resort which made it look a bit unclean at times. Those dishes sat there for two days without anyone working there having picked it up. Good for the view, bad because other guests left their dishes at or about the entrance to the beach which was very close to our door. I can't speak to it either way other than we did not sign up. Caveat emptor! Some love this club and others have regrets. While this came in handy to obtain a free car rental, it was 1.5 hours of my time to hear about this preferred club that resembles a time share of sorts with the presenter of said club drawing arrows back and forth with numbers being thrown at you right, left and center while not clearly explaining what you truly get for those big bucks that you'd have to pay. I'm not sure if this happens to Secrets or Dreams guests, but they are right in the lobby waiting when you arrive at Sunscape. You're on vacation at an all inclusive and one has to plan ahead and forage for food as though you're staying at Disney World.Īnother issue is that they will inundate you to hear their presentation about being a member of the Preferred Club. Even so, there are wait times to get food at all 3 resorts which is absurd. Evidently, that's how most of the people at Sunscapes manage this whole food acquisition nightmare. While we were there, both of our restaurants closed on Monday, leaving us with no place to eat at all if I hadn't complained to a manager to get my name on a "preferred" list that is printed out and given to Dreams and Secrets restaurants. There is a snack bar on site however the wait times for your food can be 30 minutes or more and there is a very real chance that while you're waiting someone else can come up and get your food since they don't cross check a name to an order. Families with small children will certainly be impacted by this. This creates long wait times to get food. The issue is that all three facilities will close one or more of their restaurants which then forces Dreams and Secrets vacationers to eat at Sunscape where seating is already very limited. This would get people in and out faster as Sunscape is the "family" resort out of the three resorts. Both have limited seating and hours and seem not to ever offer a buffet at any meal. One that is inside and one that is outside. ![]() Secondly, Dreams and Secrets can use Sunscape's restaurants any time they like. That was after us being up at 2:30 am to get there due to flights being what they are these days so we were exhausted and starved. First of all, we didn't arrive until nearly 4:30 pm, well after check in and our room wasn't ready until dinner. ![]() Sunscape is "pretty" as are the other properties and the food is good there but there are some issues that need to be brought up. Sunscape is attached indirectly to Dreams on one side and Secrets (adult only, which is 16 and over when booking but 18 and over to actually use anything over there so beware parents of 16/17 year olds) on the other side. ![]()
